Terra College

The project :

In the Netherlands, in the town of Emmen, a school offers unique learning paths, combining classic theoretical subjects with environmentally-focused teaching, such as plant cultivation, animal husbandry and landscaping. As part of this specific education, the premises were designed to be welcoming, warm and confor - table. To achieve this, the owners called on Eurocoustic to equip the ceilings.

The customer's needs :
  • Acoustic comfort for students, teachers and staff
  • Aesthetics
  • Originality
Our answer :

In premises open to the public, and in particular those dedicated to education, solutions were needed to meet different needs. In the corridors and classrooms of Terra College, Eurocoustic proposed a solution of TONGA® A 22 White and EuroColors tiles to provide acoustic comfort while affirming the originality and aesthetics of the premises. In the school's kitchens, a ceiling solution with TONGA® ULTRA CLEAN A 22 tiles was proposed, to meet the specific hygiene and cleanability requirements of this type of premises.

TONGA® A22 WHITE & EUROCOLORS WHITE 09, AMBER G1, EMERALD G2, SULFUR G7, TURQUOISE G9

A solution using TONGA® A22 tiles to provide the brightness, aesthetics and acoustic absorption required for occupant comfort and well-being. - Acoustics: Acoustics is a fundamental element in education. Learning is first and foremost listening! Thanks to an optimal absorption index αw = 1, TONGA® A 22 tiles offer greater acoustic comfort by reducing ambient noise and enhancing the intelligibility and clarity of dialogue. - Aesthetics: Visual comfort has an impact on intellectual performance, concentration, memorization and well-being. By reflecting light, white ceilings are ideal for good lighting quality. Ceilings in different colors for different rooms bring coherence and make it easier to find one's way around. They can also influence the state of mind and comfort of occupants by creating a dynamic atmosphere with tonic nuances. Eurocoustic's range of decorations creates a specific identity for each room, such as the corridors and classrooms here: the dynamic colors chosen create a playful, welcoming atmosphere. TONGA® tiles are available in 40 solid colors (EuroColors) and 6 new designs (EuroDesign), and in a wide choice of dimensions. In this school, the choice fell on the 22 mm size and five different colors.

EuroColors Amber, Emerald, Turquoise and Sulfur give the rooms an invigorating and communicative energy, making for a stimulating and cheerful atmosphere. White, meanwhile, creates a sense of comfort and calm, while remaining timeless.
